Our Justgiving Page

Here's where our fundraising began.  The Justgiving page was set up to invite people to make a donation instead of sending flowers for Alice's funeral.  Within a week we had beaten our initial target of £1,000.  We raised over £5,000 through donations alone.  To make a donation to RMHC, click on the button below.  Donating through Justgiving is secure, quick and easy.  Simply follow the on-screen instructions and your donation is sent directly to RMHC.

In time for the second anniversary of Alice's life, our total exceeded £41,000.  We have been continually amazed by the generosity of others and are very grateful to everyone who has helped us raise this money

Horsham St Faiths Crematorium memorial service - September 2009

Hundreds of people attended the 42nd Annual Service of Remembrance at Horsham St Faiths Crematorium to remember lost loved ones.  A collection at the service went towards ARMS/RMHC and a total of £841.98 was raised on the day.  Special thank you to Reverend Andrew Beane who arranged for the donations to go to ARMS.

Great North Run - September 2009

Paul Rowlands completed the Great North in 2009 raising over £500 for RMHC.  Paul was also interviewed about ARMS on Metro Radio by Tony Horne, the breakfast show presenter on Newcastle's Metro Radio.  He also got a name check in the Great North Run magazine in an article written by the Metro Radio DJ, Tony Horne.

2nd ARMS/RMHC Gala Evening - July 2009

The second ARMS Gala Evening was attended by over 100 people and raised a staggering £13,000 for RMHC.

Great North Run - October 2008

Paul Rowlands completed this year's Great North run in 2 hours 39 minutes.  Read all about it...

ARMS / RMHC Gala Evening - July 2008
The ARMS Gala Evening, held on Saturday 5th July 2008 at Sprowston Manor Hotel in Norwich, was a huge success, raising a phenomenal £15,000. This has been added to the ‘Amount Raised Offline’ below. Click here to see some photos from the night.

Daredevil Friends - June / July 2008
Some friends have done some pretty extreme things to help us raise money.

Paul Macro jumped from a plane at 13,000 feet on 12 July.  Good job he was harnessed to an instructor with a parachute!  He described the experience afterwards as "awesome".  Well done Paul.  Paul's total raised so far stands at a sky-high £150, with a a bit more still to come.

Dave Farrant completed a mammoth bike ride from Bristol to Toulouse in France. Dave covered a total distance of 652 miles by pedal power alone over a period of 10 days and raised over £500.  Over the course of those 10 days, Dave endured bumpy roads, long detours and punctures, but saw some beautiful French countryside in the process.  We congratulate him on completing such a fantastic journey.

Special Birthday Present - June 2008
A friends daughter had a 13th birthday party and invited her friends to make a donation to the charity instead of buying her presents. £200 was raised and we thank Evie Maskrey for such a lovely idea.

CNS Reunion Raffle - May 2008

Our first formal fundraiser was a raffle. It was suggested by Paul Macro an old school friend of Miranda’s who was organising a reunion. Paul offered to donate a prize for a raffle on the night of the reunion with the proceeds going to ARMS. This idea of a small raffle snowballed - we wrote to numerous local companies and soon got a massive list of prizes for the raffle. We ended up raising £1,400 from ticket sales which was phenomenal.

It was through writing to local companies for raffle prizes that we met Kevin Foley. Working with Kevin and his family, and thanks to his ideas, time and personal commitment that the ARMS / RMHC Gala Evening was made possible.

Denton Charity Lunch - April 2008

In April, the people of Denton held a charity lunch. Several of Paul's colleagues, past and present, live in the village which is near Bungay and decided to organise the charity lunch after hearing our story. The meal was attended by about 60 people and raised £640 for RMHC. There was a wonderful community spirit, we were warmly welcomed by everyone and made to feel like honorary ‘Dentonites’ for the day.

RMHC Gala Dinner - March 2008

In March, in recognition of our efforts, RMHC invited us to attend their annual Gala Dinner at the Natural History Museum in London. Miranda gave a speech telling the 650 attendees Alice’s story and what RMHC had done for us. Around this time we also formed the Alice Rowlands Memorial Society (ARMS) to raise money for RMHC in memory of Alice and as a more formal way of helping promote our fundraising activities.
